Job Description
Purpose of Position
Individuals in this position plan, design, and manage projects for the organization. These projects include land development (retail, healthcare, industrial, commercial, educational, institutional, municipal), utility distribution (storm, sanitary, watermain, electrical ductbank, thermal utilities), and municipal design and inspection.

Essential Functions:
  • Discuss requirements with the client and other professional
  •  Analyze survey, mapping and materials-testing data with computer modeling software
  • Draw up plans, using CAD packages, primarily Civil 3D
  • Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning stages and risk analysis.     
  •  Make judgments whether projects are workable by assessing materials, costs and time requirements     
  •  Assess the environmental impact and risks connected to project
  •  Prepare bid documents for clients 
  •  Manage, direct and monitor progress during each phase of a project
  •  Ensure sites meet legal guidelines, and health and safety requirements.
  •  Present findings to the public on topics such as bid proposals, environmental impact statements, or property description
  •  Manage the repair, maintenance, and replacement of public and private infrastructure.
  •  Set up modeling files for projects and create design drawings

Physical Demands of Position
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and/or carry up to 25 pounds. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.


Environmental/WorkingConditions
Engineers generally work in offices. However, many spend time outdoors at construction sites so they can monitor operations or solve problems onsite.

Job Specifications

1.           Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

2.           Current Wisconsin Engineer credential or ability to obtain within 2 years

3.           2 – 10 years experience working in the Civil Engineering industry.

4.           Excellent verbal and written communication skills

5.           Strong interpersonal skills are beneficial

6.           Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, StormCAD, HydroCAD, WinSLAMM

7.           Proficient with Microsoft Office O365, Adobe Acrobat, Blue Beam
