What You'll Do

- Address student behavioral issues, support students of concern, respond to crisis and emergency situations, and serve in an on-call rotation for after-hours support
- Facilitate a robust and engaged community experience where students are living, including the development and facilitation of social and educational initiatives

What You'll Do
The Residential Life Coordinator (RLC) is a full-time professional staff member who lives in university housing and is responsible for the day-to-day operation and community development of their assigned residential area(s). Specific responsibilities include:
- Directly supervise student staff (Resident Assistants, Theme and Special Interest Program Assistants, Jumbassadors, and/or Operations Assistants) in supporting communities that foster growth, and developing a living experience that emphasizes shared ownership of a safe and healthy environment for all of its members
- Address student behavioral issues, support students of concern, respond to crisis and emergency situations, and serve in an on-call rotation for after-hours support
- Facilitate a robust and engaged community experience where students are living, including the development and facilitation of social and educational initiatives
- Supervision
- Directly supervise student staff, including training and development, shift scheduling, evaluation, and performance management
*Participate in student staff recruitment and selection processes

- Community Engagement and Education
- Facilitate planning and implementation of programs and community initiatives
- Attend residential events and programs to build connection with students
- Facilitate meetings and circles with students in assigned residential area(s)
- Establish presence in each assigned building through open hours and/or programs
- Student Behavior and Student Support
- Serve as resource and support for students in assigned residential area(s)
- Address student behavior and alleged policy violations through conduct and/or behavior intervention meetings
- Serve in on-call rotation, coordinating response and follow up to a range of incidents, some of which are highly complex in nature
- Mediate conflicts between students, facilitating discussions that resolve issues and restore relationships
- Operational and Logistical Responsibilities
- Assess the physical conditions of assigned residential area(s) on a weekly basis to ensure spaces are clean, habitable, safe, and well-maintained
- Oversee the opening and closing processes in assigned residential area(s)
- Facilitate Health and Safety Inspections for assigned residential area(s)
- Allocate, track, and reconcile budget for assigned residential areas(s)

- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior experience in residential life, fraternity/sorority life, student activities, or related student affairs areas
- Commitment to advising, mentorship, and guiding students
- Flexibility, approachability, and enthusiasm
- Co-curricular experience in educational settings
- Demonstrated experience with diverse student populations and commitment to inclusiveness
- Self-directed, organized, and strong administrative skills
- Ability to live within assigned apartment full-time (12 months)
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Must pass criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Experience with student staff supervision
