Job Description

MANUAL MACHINIST
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Manual Machinist for a company based in Columbus, MS. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work for a company that offers a wide range of services and resources including a full-service machine shop.

Pay Rate
$25.00 to $34.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7 30 am to 4 00 pm.

Manual Machinist Duties and Responsibilities

Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools such as lathes and milling machines to make or rework metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions
Using a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Positions materials by using an overhead crane.
May perform simple cleaning maintenance operations.
Reports abnormal conditions of equipment to supervision.
Observes all Safety rules and regulations and keeps the work area clean and orderly

Manual Machinist Qualifications and Requirements

Degree in Precision Manufacturing and Machining Technology or 2-5 years of job-related experience preferred.
Mechanically inclined and very reliable.
Willingness and ability to work any shift and overtime when required.
Must pass pre-employment physical, safety training, background and drug and alcohol screen. Please be aware that Glenn has a comprehensive drug policy, which includes random testing.
Must have dependable transportation.
