This role focuses on maintaining and operating mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production equipment, with a strong emphasis on preventive maintenance and rectifying machine operation. You will work with motors, conveyors, presses, and chain-driven machinery, ensuring reliable performance through regular lubrication, inspections, and basic repairs while spending the majority of your time operating the rectifying machine on a highly automated packaging line.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production equipment, including motors, conveyors, presses, and chain-driven machines.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform basic maintenance on production machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Operate the rectifying machine, dedicating approximately 75% of work time to its efficient and safe operation.
  • Spend approximately 25% of work time performing basic maintenance tasks on machines, such as adjustments, minor repairs, and component replacement.
  • Lubricate machines and mechanical components according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Support maintenance activities on mechanical and chain-driven equipment used across the production line.
  • Work on highly automated packaging and selection lines, ensuring equipment runs smoothly and downtime is minimized.
  • Use personal hand tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks safely and effectively.
  • Follow all safety procedures when working around kilns, ovens, tall equipment, and scaffolding.
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify equipment issues and schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status to supervisors and team members.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience with production equipment such as motors, conveyors, presses, and chain-driven machines.
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience operating and maintaining rectifying or similar industrial machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs and adjustments on industrial equipment.
  • Capability to work safely around tall equipment, scaffolding, kilns, and ovens.
  • Must supply own hand tools or have the ability to obtain them.
  • Comfort working in a dusty environment due to tile dust while maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including day or night shift schedules.
  • Understanding of industrial safety practices, including the use of steel-toe footwear and appropriate work attire.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in maintenance work within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Background in mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems from fields such as military, diesel mechanics, welding, or fabrication.
  • Ability to weld and fabricate components is beneficial.
  • Experience working on highly automated packaging or production lines.
  • Comfort working at heights on tall equipment and scaffolding.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including 1st shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and 2nd shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), as well as standard 8-hour day or night shifts (6:00 AM–2:30 PM and 10:00 PM–6:30 AM) as needed.
Why Work Here?

You will join a large, established manufacturing operation with a stable workforce and the opportunity to work on highly automated, modern equipment. The selection line and front-of-plant areas offer a more comfortable and cleaner environment than typical industrial settings, providing a better day-to-day experience. The role offers consistent full-time hours on defined shifts, allowing you to plan your schedule and maintain work-life balance. You will work with a variety of mechanical systems, gaining valuable hands-on experience and building your skills in maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment operation.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large tile manufacturing facility with approximately 140 people on-site. The environment can be dusty due to tile dust, though it is kept fairly clean. Some tasks involve working in high areas on tall equipment and scaffolding, and certain zones, particularly around kilns and ovens, can be very hot in the summer. You will support the glaze and body preparation and raw materials line, as well as a highly automated packaging and selection line at the front of the plant, which is more comfortable and cleaner than other areas. Steel-toe footwear is required, and the dress code allows practical attire such as shorts and cut-off T-shirts suitable for industrial work. Available schedules include 2nd shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with openings on the selection line, as well as 8-hour day shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM) and 8-hour night shift (Monday–Friday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM), providing options for different shift preferences.
