MIG Welder – Steel, Galvanized, and Stainless
Job Description
This role sets up and operates welding equipment to produce high-quality steel and galvanized metal products using blueprints and fixtures. You will perform MIG welding in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring parts meet print specifications while working safely and efficiently across various materials, including galvanized steel, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate welding equipment safely, productively, and in an ergonomically correct manner to manufacture quality parts and assemblies.
- Use blueprints and fixtures to weld products made of steel and/or galvanized metal according to specifications.
- Hand weld products using MIG welders in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner.
- Adjust welding machines as needed to maintain consistent part quality and minimize smoke and spatter.
- Produce acceptable-quality welds with good workmanship and very few rejects, meeting or exceeding quality standards.
- Maintain an acceptable level of productivity with some supervision while meeting production goals.
- Identify and use the correct fixtures and components required to produce each product.
- Produce high-quality welds on galvanized steel, carbon steel, and stainless steel with minimal rejects.
- Complete work to print requirements, ensuring all dimensions and weld placements meet specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, part numbers, tolerances, and data critical to quality.
- Manufacture products to specifications without a fixture by using weld tables, prints, tape measures, protractors, clamps, and related tools.
- Communicate production issues professionally, seeking clarification and resolution from frontline employees and leadership.
- Follow all safety procedures, including consistent use of safety glasses, gloves, and other required protective equipment as outlined in job hazard analyses.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production and overall plant operations.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olyphant, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
