Job Summary:-
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator with a strong background in general contracting and commercial/multi-family renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience estimating projects ranging from $1 million to $30 million, with expertise in building envelope restoration and repair. Experience with historic restoration projects is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:-
Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial and multi-family renovation projects valued between $1M and $30M.
Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses.
Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids.
Develop competitive project budgets, proposals, and bid packages.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during the preconstruction phase.
Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and market trends.
Support contract negotiations and assist with project handoff to operations teams.
Required Qualifications:-
Proven experience as a General Contractor (GC) Estimator on commercial and multi-family renovation projects.
Demonstrated experience estimating projects in the $1M-$30M range.
Strong knowledge of building envelope repairs, including:
Masonry restoration
Waterproofing systems
EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems)
Metal panel siding
Commercial and multi-family window replacement
Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and blueprint reading.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:-
Experience with historic restoration and preservation projects.
Experience working with occupied commercial or multi-family renovation projects.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred but not required based on experience).
