Director of Accounting

We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to lead core accounting and shared services operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity based in Golden, Colorado. This role will oversee critical financial activities, support accurate and timely reporting, and provide leadership across functions such as accounts payable and treasury. The ideal candidate brings strong operational accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to guide teams in a complex business environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead accounting and shared services activities to ensure reliable day-to-day financial operations and strong internal coordination.
• Direct the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee the preparation of financial reports and deliver clear insights to support business and leadership decision-making.
• Provide leadership for accounts payable processes, improving controls, efficiency, and service quality across the function.
• Partner with treasury stakeholders to support both corporate and global treasury activities, including cash-related oversight and cross-functional alignment.
• Manage accounting priorities within SAP, helping maintain effective processes, reporting consistency, and system-based financial controls.
• Supervise accounting staff and shared services team members, setting expectations, coaching performance, and promoting accountability.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen workflows, standardize procedures, and improve the overall effectiveness of accounting operations.• Proven experience leading accounting operations in a senior-level management or director capacity.
• Strong background in month-end close and the delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Hands-on knowledge of shared services environments, including process oversight and team leadership.
• Experience supporting accounts payable functions and maintaining effective financial controls.
• Familiarity with corporate treasury and global treasury activities within a complex organization.
• Working knowledge of SAP and its use in accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, lead teams, and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
