American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med Surg/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of med surg experience and comfort with frequent floating between units.
Details\n- \n
- Work in the Step Down/PCU unit with frequent floating to Med Surg/Tele and other MS/Tele units \n
- Med Surg patient ratios of 1:5-6 and Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 \n
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15 \n
- Weekday schedule with every other weekend required \n
- Floating required within the hospital in rotation with staff based on clinical experience \n
- Holiday coverage required as needed \n
- Uses Meditech EMR, experience preferred but not required \n
- Pediatric experience not required; travelers without pediatric experience will not be assigned pediatric patients \n
- \n
- Active SC RN license or compact license required \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS \n
- Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required \n
- Stepdown/PCU experience highly preferred due to floating requirements \n
- Community hospital experience preferred \n
- IV start skills required \n
- Must be comfortable with high patient-to-caregiver ratios and frequent floating \n

- Provide nursing care across Med Surg and Stepdown/PCU units, including cardiac monitoring, respiratory care, and wound care as needed \n
- Floating is frequent due to high patient-to-caregiver ratios and will occur in accordance with facility floating policies and appropriate orientation to the new unit \n
- Scrubs are not provided; royal blue/white color scheme required \n
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position \n
- First-time travelers are accepted \n
- Facility will not accept candidates with any license or background hits \n
- Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure to be eligible for return \n
- Minimal to no RTO accepted; any RTO requests must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start \n
- Travel experience preferred but not required \n
