American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 6 months of experience in a skilled/acute and outpatient setting for a 12-week inpatient/outpatient assignment at a critical access hospital in Texas.

- Work setting is a 25-bed critical access hospital providing both inpatient skilled nursing and outpatient occupational therapy services under one hospital license \n
- Inpatient patients include skilled nursing cases with an average length of stay of 14 days \n
- Common diagnoses include general SNF, wounds, orthopedic, neurological, and debility cases \n
- Position requires floating between inpatient and outpatient departments within the same facility \n
- Charting is performed in MEDITECH \n
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (7a–4p or 8a–5p); no weekends and no on-call required \n
- Productivity expectation is 24 units per 8-hour day \n
- No therapy technician support is available on this unit \n

- Active Texas OT license and national OT license required; pending licenses will not be accepted — license required if applicable \n
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a skilled nursing or acute care setting required; some outpatient OT experience also required \n
- BLS (AHA) certification required; active certifications required, pending not accepted \n
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire \n
- Copy of a valid driver's license required for consideration \n
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered \n

- New graduates will be considered provided they have at least six months of relevant experience \n
- Responsibilities include performing patient evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans and goals, implementing treatment programs, reassessing outcomes, and participating in discharge planning \n
- Care is delivered within an interdisciplinary team framework in accordance with the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy guidelines \n
- May be asked to precept other staff as needed by the unit \n
- Orientation includes Pathways learning modules assigned during onboarding, along with on-site education and shadowing for site and documentation orientation \n
- Consistent attendance is expected; call-outs are strongly discouraged and may result in termination \n
