Can You Read the Flame?

Do you know when the puddle is ready, how to pace your heat, and when the flux has done its job? Join us as a Brazing Fabricator building copper and aluminum assemblies for heat exchangers, condensers, and evaporators. You’ll perform precise manual brazing and soldering to create durable, leak‑tight connections that meet demanding specifications.

Your Mission

• Build: Assemble tubes, headers, return bends, distributors, and fittings in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
• Prepare: Clean, align, and correctly flux joints to promote proper capillary flow.
• Join: Use oxy‑acetylene or induction torch methods; set flame type and heat time; apply the right filler to avoid oxidation and overheating.
• Verify: Perform visual inspections and pressure/leak tests; diagnose and repair any weak or leaking joints.
• Maintain: Keep torches and tools in top condition—swap tips, clear nozzles, check gas pressures daily.
• Document: Capture joint counts, repair activity, and test outcomes in logs or ERP.
• Safeguard: Follow all hot‑work procedures; handle copper tubing, nitrogen, flux, and gases with care.
• Improve & Collaborate: Suggest process, quality, and safety enhancements; help onboard and train new brazers; escalate equipment or material problems quickly.

Capabilities We’re Looking For

• Fluent with oxy‑acetylene torch setup and control of flame, temperature, and filler technique.
• Comfortable interpreting blueprints and assembly documentation.
• Steady hands and strong coordination for precise work in tight clearances.
• Proficient with tape measures, calipers, gauges, and pressure meters.
• Ability to recognize poor wetting or overheating and correct on the spot.
• Knowledgeable about torch service, cylinder handling, and regulator adjustment.
• Quality‑driven mindset delivering consistent appearance and integrity with minimal rework.
• Safety‑first approach to hot work, open flame, and pressurized gas systems.
• Team player committed to cross‑training and ongoing improvement.

Preferred: High school diploma or GED; 3–6 months of related training or experience.

Physical & Environmental Realities

• Expect 8+ hours standing and walking each shift.
• Regular reaching, sitting, and stooping; repetitive motions are part of the job.
• Lift and move 20–50 lbs multiple times per shift.
• Extended hours and occasional overtime may be needed to meet demand.

• Work around moving machinery with potential exposure to noise, vibration, and changing temperatures.

Required PPE: Gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats—provided by the company.
