About this job
Description
Lead the crew. Own the jobsite. Build a career.
TRL Systems is looking for an experienced Fire TI Foreman to lead onsite installation teams for fire life safety systems in commercial properties. This isn't a "just follow the plan" role, you'll be the person the Project Manager, third-party contractors, and the customer all count on to keep the job moving, on code, and done right.
If you're the technician other techs already come to with questions, and you're ready to run the crew instead of just being on it, this is your next move.
Day to Day, You'll:
- Hands-on experience installing fire life safety systems in commercial properties, with a solid grasp of system components, wiring, and layout.
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings/blueprints and translate them into an efficient install plan.
- Working knowledge of fire code requirements and the inspection process with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
- System programming and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to make timely corrective calls to keep a project moving.
- Communicate daily with internal and external customers via phone, email, and company systems and stay on top of every request.
- Manage your own schedule and hold the team to every committed deadline.
- Run periodic on-site evaluations to make sure work matches scope and TRL standards, and flag any out-of-scope work to the Project Manager before it becomes a problem.
- Review and correct T&M tickets so time, materials, and resolutions are accurate and billing-ready.
- Train technicians on the products and systems your team installs, and manage the onboarding plan for anyone new to the crew.
- Enter your own time daily so leadership always has a real-time view of the budget.
- Keep your assigned vehicle and inventory in line with TRL Fleet policy.
Why TRL
If you want to grow into bigger projects and bigger teams, this is the seat where that happens.
