Material Handler

Job Description:

VIA Visually Impaired Advancement is seeking a Material Handler to work up to full time hours for the Industries department. This position is primarily responsible for delivery of raw materials for production, palletizing, and wrapping as well as picking orders and assisting in preparing them for shipment.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure Production Workers have appropriate raw materials
• Provide work material to Production Workers as needed
• Perform quality checks and inspections and log production
• Accurately record raw and finished product
• Control movement of material and products in and out of stock area utilizing hand jack / pallet jack equipment
• Notify supervisor of material, quality, count, or other issues that could impact production
• Pick all orders accurately and in the order specified
• Ensure all orders are prepared for safe shipment 
• Accurately count and record as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred
• Experience working in manufacturing/warehouse setting preferred
