Job Description
MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a direct-hire opportunity with an extrusion and trucking parts manufacturing company in Michigan.
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and support safe and efficient production operations.
Pay: $32–$35/hour

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues.
Complete preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions using testing equipment, diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals.
Repair or replace defective parts and components as needed.
Perform repairs involving electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and general mechanical systems.
Research obsolete machine parts and identify suitable replacement or alternative components.
Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
Assist with welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed.
Work with outside vendors when specialized repairs or services are required.
Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to identify recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
Provide recommendations for equipment repairs, upgrades, and improvements.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
MAINTENANCE MECHANIC REQUIREMENTS
3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience maintaining and repairing industrial manufacturing machinery.
Extrusion equipment experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Experience using material-handling equipment and ability to obtain required OSHA certification.
Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
Experience using fabrication equipment, including saws, drill presses, manual mills, and manual lathes.
CNC equipment experience is a plus.
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
