Fit Up Welder - Now Hiring

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, 1st Shift
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Overtime: Friday overtime is expected as needed 

Penmac Staffing is seeking experienced Fit Up Welders for a full-time opportunity with a manufacturing client. This position focuses on fitting, fabricating, and welding conveyor components in a fast-paced production environment. If you have FCAW or stick welding experience and enjoy working with blueprints and fabrication tools, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.Requirements for the Fit Up Welder

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of two years of FCAW and/or stick welding experience
• Ability to pass an internal welding test
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Experience using air tools, power tools, hand tools, torches, and grinders
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work assigned shifts and overtime, including weekends when needed

Fit Up Welder Responsibilities

• Fit, fabricate, and weld conveyor systems and components
• Read blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate production
• Operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools
• Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures
• Participate in lean manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives
• Maintain quality standards throughout the fabrication process
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements for the Fit Up Welder

• Stand, bend, crouch, and move throughout the workday, often for 10+ hours
• Lift up to 40 pounds independently
• Use overhead cranes for larger materials and components
• Perform repetitive motions, including tightening bolts and nuts
• Work in a manufacturing environment with high noise levels, welding, and grinding operations
• Work in a facility without air conditioning and be exposed to varying temperatures
• Work around welding fumes and other manufacturing-related conditions

Pay and Benefits

• Competitive pay starting at $20.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
