Decorative Specialty Metals

PRIMARY PURPOSE (Pending Craft Levels)

Decorative Specialty Metals Fabricators are required for fabrication shop and or field installation of materials.

Shop Welders - Welding, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW welding methods.

Shop Fitters – Blueprint reading, layout work, fitting, fixture building as required, welding, cutting, grinding, etc.

Shop Labors - Materials preparation, cutting, equipment, plate shears, brake press, drilling, punching holes, etc. also polishing on decorative metals projects, grinding, sanding by hand or handheld tools, etc.

TYPICAL DUTIES

o Fabricate Projects per blueprints and/or detailed instructions from supervision.

o Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.

o Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

o Must adhere to all JSR’s safety requirements.

o Must have personal transportation.

o Must be punctual (arrive to work on time)

REQUIREMENTS

Workers must be able to:

o Meet standard job requirements.

o Perform a variety of duties. Welding, fitting, grinding, polishing, and operation of fabrication equipment, etc.

o Materials Preparation, cutting, cutting equipment, plate shears, brake press, drilling, punching holes, etc.

o Fitting, layout work, fixture building as required, grinding, etc.

o Welding, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, to include grinding.

o Polishing on Decorative Metals projects, Grinding, Sanding by hand or handheld tools, etc.

o Field work may be required, will and could include requirements as outlined above to include operations of field equipment. Ex: Man Lift / Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Forklifts, etc.

o Visualize objects in 3-dimensions from shop drawings.

o Must be able to read a measuring tape for accuracy.

o Understand steel shapes, in Steel, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel.

o Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.

o Background on stainless and aluminum welding and polishing process, fabrication practices.

Physically, must be able to:

o See and hear well (either naturally or with correction).

o Lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.

o Reach for, manipulate, and feel objects.

o Stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.

o Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures.

o Work outdoors in inclement weather, including heat, cold, wind, rain.

o Capacity to operate equipment, man lift, scissor lift, etc.
