Job Title: Litigation Associate

Location: West Palm Beach, FL on-site or willing to relocate

Salary: Base $100k-$160k + Performance Comp

Requirements: JD and good standing Florida Bar, 3+yrs experience in PI, MedMal, Courtroom experience and Trial Exposure, Former Prosecutors a huge plus

Position Overview
A highly respected plaintiff litigation firm is seeking a 3+ year associate to join its trial team. This role offers hands-on litigation exposure and the opportunity to work on high-value cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court and at hearings, including pretrial conferences, motions, and trials
  • Develop and execute trial strategy and trial presentation materials, including exhibits, demonstratives, and witness preparation
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and appellate filings with accuracy and persuasive legal analysis
  • Manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery, depositions, E-discovery workflows, document review, and evidence management
  • Conduct legal research and produce memoranda and trial-level legal writing using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or equivalent tools
  • Prepare for and take depositions; prepare and examine witnesses at trial; handle witness interviews and witness preparation
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in Alternative Dispute Resolution proceedings when appropriate
  • Maintain client communication and provide practical counseling regarding strategy, exposures, and case valuation
  • Coordinate with trial support staff and manage document management systems (Relativity, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Pacer and docket systems)
  • Ensure timely timekeeping and billing entry and meet internal compliance and regulatory obligations
  • Assist with appellate briefing and post-trial matters as needed

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar required
  • 3+ years exp in prior litigation experience with courtroom and trial exposure; prosecution experience or felony/sex-crimes background is a plus
  • Strong courtroom exposure 
  • Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and coordinating trial support and witness preparation
  • Comfortable handling client counseling, settlement negotiation, and Alternative Dispute Resolution processes
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational, timekeeping and billing discipline, and the ability to manage multiple matters concurrently
