Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist C
Job Description
The CNC Lathe Machinist C works alongside senior machinists to support machining operations on CNC lathes and mills. This role focuses on assisting with tooling and fixture selection, monitoring part counts and production records, and performing in-process inspections to ensure high-quality output in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist Machinist A and B in daily machining operations on CNC lathe and related equipment.
- Support in selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine setups for each job.
- Help perform machine changeovers to prepare equipment for new parts or production runs.
- Aid in basic programming or setup adjustments on CNC machines as directed.
- Keep accurate count of parts produced and maintain detailed production records.
- Assist in conducting in-process inspection of parts to verify dimensions and quality.
- Collaborate with small teams to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Identify and communicate potential issues in machining processes and contribute to problem-solving.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on machining processes and setups.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment involving machining equipment.
- Hands-on experience with lathe operation and general machine operating.
- Basic knowledge of CNC machining processes, including changeovers and programming support.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machining concepts and equipment functions.
- Ability to work effectively in small teams and collaborate with high level machinists.
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and suggest practical solutions.
- Attention to detail in maintaining accurate part counts and production records.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety and quality standards in a production setting.

- Exposure to CNC mills and related machining equipment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume contract manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks within a small team.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.50/hr.
