Job Description
This role involves setting up and operating saw equipment to cut metal materials to precise specifications in a busy fabrication shop. You will use measuring tools and overhead cranes to handle materials safely while maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the production process.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate saw equipment to cut metal materials according to detailed specifications.
- Accurately measure materials using a tape measure to ensure cuts meet required tolerances.
- Safely operate overhead cranes to move raw materials and finished products within the shop.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed to support production activities.
- Inspect cut materials for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications before release.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while operating heavy machinery.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure to perform accurate measurements.
- Certified or experienced in operating overhead cranes, or willingness to be trained and certified.
- Experience running a metal saw, preferably in a fabrication or metalworking environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods.
- Comfort operating heavy machinery in a physically demanding environment.
- Experience with saw operation and metal saws in a production setting.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use shop equipment correctly.
- Prior experience in metal fabrication or a similar industrial environment.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled plant with varying temperatures.
- Willingness to learn additional shop processes and equipment as needed.
- Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.

Work EnvironmentThis is a first-shift position, working Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an occasional Friday shift until lunchtime. The role is based in a non-climate-controlled plant, so temperatures will reflect the weather and can be hot or cold depending on the season. The environment is a physically demanding fabrication shop where you will stand, bend, lift, and operate heavy machinery throughout the day. Required PPE includes steel-toed boots, while other protective gear such as welding hoods, gloves, safety glasses, and jackets is provided. The shop emphasizes safety, proper use of equipment, and teamwork to maintain an efficient and secure workplace.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
