We currently have a client in Hermiston, OR looking for a Medical Technologist (Traveling Medical Technologist)
\n Focus Staff is seeking a traveling Certified Medical Technologist, who is responsible for the prompt, efficient, and accurate validation and reporting of laboratory test results. Our Medical Technologist performs routine chemical, microbiologic, immunologic, hematologic, molecular, and/or immunohematology laboratory procedures. The Medical Technologist interprets, communicates and records test results.
Contract Assignment - 13 Weeks (Temporary)
Shift: 5x8 Days

Requirements:\n

Work Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist (Certified Medical Technologist)

Responsibilities:

- Collect specimens from lab or directly from patient \n
- Prepare and test specimens, including blood, urine, tissue, and/or other bodily fluids \n
- Perform hands-on tasks in drawing blood, including preparing and sterilizing the area, applying pressure, and dressing when complete \n
- Monitor vital signs when working directly with patients \n
- Analyze and report specimen test results \n
- Process, record, and analyze tested data as necessary \n
- Enter information into medical databases \n
- Work under the supervision of and report to the medical technologist \n
- Look for and identify any cell abnormalities using cell dying processes \n
- Work with a pathologist to determine correct diagnosis if If cell abnormalities are found \n
- Prepare tissue samples for examination by cutting, mounting, staining, etc. \n
- Ensure accuracy of tested data results by using appropriate methods of analysis. \n
- Wear and ensure proper fit of wearable safety gear (eye protection, clothing, gloves, mask etc.) \n
- Maintain a clean work space and sterilize equipment as necessary \n
- Adhere to medical safety protocol, including keeping a sterile environment and executing proper hazardous waste disposal \n
- Use diagnostic machinery and complex lab equipment as needed \n
