\n \nOpportunity:
\nRN - Med/Surg
\nJob Details:
\n• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
\n • Weekend requirement every other weekend - night shift weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
\n • Holiday rotation with regular staff
\n • No on-call or standby requirement
\n • Floating to other units is required to assist as a tasker or extra set of hands
\n • Nurse-to-patient ratio of no more than 5 patients per nurse
\n • Unit accepts RNs and LPNs
\n • Must have Epic charting system experience
\n • No first-time travelers will be considered
\n • Strong med/surg background required due to variety of patients
\n • Common diagnoses include chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic cases, detox, post-operative surgical patients, and pediatric patients
\n • RNs are not required to titrate drips
\n • ICU monitors readings are faxed to med/surg for nurse documentation
\n • 3 nurse aides per shift available on unit
\n • Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow - RT will assist and manage
\n • Manager creates schedule but is open to working with block scheduling preferences
\n • Extra shifts may be available
\n • 3 to 5 days of unit orientation training provided
\n • Scrub color is open to any color except camouflage or orange
\n • Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS required for all RNs and LPNs
\n • ACLS and PALS recommended but not required
\n • BSN not required
\n • Valid nursing license required for submission
Facility:
\nThis acute care facility operates a 32-bed med/surg unit currently running at 20 beds due to staffing. The unit is equipped with ICU-level monitoring capabilities and handles a wide variety of patient diagnoses, supported by a house supervisor who manages nursing assignments. The facility utilizes Epic as its charting system and provides comprehensive departmental orientation including medication technology, pharmacy, and laboratory training.
