Environmental Specialist
\nSalary: $106k to $124k
\nPosition Overview
\nWe are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives within a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations while partnering with cross-functional teams to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.
\nThe ideal candidate has a strong background in environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, permitting, and environmental management systems, along with the ability to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to: \n
- Air emissions \n
- Hazardous waste \n
- Wastewater \n
- Stormwater \n
- Chemical and hazardous material management \n
- Identify compliance risks, permitting gaps, and operational vulnerabilities, and recommend corrective actions. \n
- Maintain environmental permits, compliance documentation, emissions inventories, and regulatory reporting records. \n
- Manage environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management, hazardous material shipping, and spill prevention initiatives. \n
- Support air compliance activities such as: \n
- Stack testing \n
- Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) \n
- Greenhouse Gas (GHG) monitoring \n
- Criteria pollutant tracking \n
- Monitor wastewater treatment operations and support stormwater management programs. \n
- Coordinate and lead environmental inspections, audits, and interactions with regulatory agencies. \n
- Conduct facility inspections of environmental control systems, hazardous waste storage areas, and chemical storage locations. \n
- Investigate environmental incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions. \n
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Manufacturing, and EHS teams to maintain compliance and improve environmental performance. \n
- Develop and maintain environmental procedures, standards, and training materials. \n
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports, including emissions inventories, discharge monitoring reports, and other regulatory filings. \n
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting regulatory deadlines. \n
Required Qualifications
\n- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related technical field. \n
- Minimum of five (5) years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing or other highly regulated industrial environment. \n
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance reporting. \n
- Experience managing environmental programs related to: \n
- Air emissions \n
- Hazardous waste \n
- Wastewater \n
- Stormwater \n
- Hazardous materials \n
- Experience with environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory agency interactions. \n
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. \n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. \n
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and environmental compliance tracking or reporting systems. \n
- Ability to work in industrial or manufacturing environments and conduct field inspections. \n
Preferred Qualifications
\n- \n
- Experience supporting semiconductor, chemical, pharmaceutical, electronics, or other highly regulated manufacturing operations. \n
- Familiarity with environmental management systems and continuous improvement initiatives. \n
- Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory reporting processes. \n
