Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, Impella and balloon pump proficiency, and an active MO or compact RN license for a 13-week night shift contract.

  • Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting at a community hospital
  • \n
  • Nurses may float between the ICU and Telemetry units
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • \n
  • Every other weekend required, with flexibility for those who prefer more weekend shifts
  • \n
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • \n
  • Meditech EMR experience strongly preferred; ability to quickly learn is required if not experienced
  • \n
  • Block scheduling may be considered, particularly over weekends, at manager's discretion
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active RN license in Missouri (MO) or a compact state, currently in hand
  • \n
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • \n
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • \n
  • Experience with Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) required
  • \n
  • Experience with stroke care and STEMI care required
  • \n
  • SSN, DOB, and valid driver's license (DL) required for consideration
  • \n
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • \n

  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • \n
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they have at least 2 years of ICU experience in a Level 1 center
  • \n
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as traveling candidates
  • \n
  • Candidates with certain background history may still be considered with an explanation
