Job Title: CVOR Surgical Tech

Location: Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles

Job Summary:
\n Provides assistance and support to surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the Operating Room. Works under the supervision of the surgeon. Facilitates a safe, effective, and orderly operating room to maximize patient safety.

Required Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Two (2) years of current experience in a large OR
\n
• Current cardiovascular experience
\n
• Team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment
\n
• HS Diploma or GED and one of the following:\n
  \n
  • Completion of a Surgical Technician training program (requirement verified at interview) or graduation from an accredited school
  \n
  • Certified Surgical Technician credential from either NBSTSA or NCCT with ten (10) years of experience
  \n
\n
• BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
\n

\n
Preferred Qualifications:\n

\n
• Ortho, ENT, and/or vascular experience
\n
• Transplant experience
\n
• Certified Surgical Technicians (CST) through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery certification NCCT
\n

\n

• Demonstrates superior knowledge of advanced surgical equipment and instrumentation
\n
• Applies knowledge related to emergency situations
\n
• Performs instrument counts and ensures accurate tracking during procedures
\n
• Prepares and maintains the sterile field in the OR
\n
• Monitors patients during surgery and provides supportive care during the pre-operative phase
\n
• Maintains current knowledge of anatomy/physiology and medications used intraoperatively
\n
• Follows all federal, state, and departmental safety procedures
