Job Title: RN UP - RMH ICU

Location: Carle Richland Memorial Hospital (CRMH)

Job Summary: The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) staff nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients within the multidisciplinary activities of the ICU Unit. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring adherence to established standards, practices, and philosophies of CRMH. The RN supervises nursing assistants and collaborates with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
\n • Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience
\n • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
\n • Illinois state RN License in good standing
\n • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
\n • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (American Heart Association)
\n • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Qualifications:
\n • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Additional Information:
\n • Ensures effective communication with patients and families through hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and use of whiteboards
\n • Works with ventilated patients to promote early mobility
\n • Assists with intubation, central line insertions, arterial line insertions, and care
\n • Delegates patient care tasks to assigned healthcare technicians and validates task completion
\n • Utilizes critical thinking and nursing judgment to evaluate patient conditions and respond to changes in status
\n • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care
\n • Identifies personal learning needs and actively seeks solutions
\n • Fulfills all departmental competency requirements
