Position Summary Moorings Park is seeking a dedicated and talented Registered Dietitian to join our team. This role contributes directly to our mission by delivering exceptional service and supporting the well-being of our residents, families, and fellow partners. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for overseeing the skilled nursing facility (Chateau) food service activities and ensuring the courteous and efficient service of high-quality nutritious meals and snacks to the residents and staff at the Chateau. The Registered Dietician is responsible for accurate and timely medical documentation associated with Resident care. The Registered Dietician demonstrates a commitment and dedication to the residents of Moorings Park in their ability to provide services at all times necessary.
Key Contributions
- Assists in assuring staff education is provided to Dietary personnel in accordance with the staff education plan plus provides on-the-job training to The Chateau.
- Conducts regular staff meetings as needed.
- Communicates with Food & Beverage Director on operating problems, resident’s food service and modified diets.
- Assists in the development of menus for The Chateau residents and staff assessing preferences and nutritional needs.
- Completes the nutritional status portion of the computerized MDS according to the schedule established by the Resident Assessment Coordinator.
- Establishes resident care plans based on the trigger’s identified by the MDS. Is vigilant in addressing problems that may not be identified by the MDS. Maintains proactive approach towards resident’s needs.
- Monitors resident weights and implements interventions as needed. Does accurate documentation addressing weight concerns.
- Assure that assessments and quarterly notes are timely and accurate, containing all required information.
- Assists in development, implementation and maintenance of written dietary service objectives and standards of practice with procedures for implementation.
- Ensures that the Dietary Services in The Chateau are in compliance with all local, State and federal regulations related to modified diets, service sanitation and personnel.
- Maintains good working relationship with supervisors and staff in other departments.
- Works in compliance with all HIPPA regulations and standards.
- Maintains Food Handlers Certification.
- Works in unison with others professionally leading and respectfully carrying out the Moorings Park Mission Statement and Spirit.
- Follows and dictates set work and break schedules for the staff they supervise.
- Assumes the responsibility in unison with the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage of The Chateau Director of Food & Beverage in their absence.
- Demonstrates initiative towards increased competency levels.
- Demonstrates a commitment to Moorings Park.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required.
- During emergencies or natural disasters, may be required to remain on duty for the duration of the event.
- Must be certified as a Registered Dietitian and have a current license to practice in the state of Florida.
- A bachelor’s degree
- Has at least two years’ experience in the food service operations of a hospital, skilled nursing facility.
