Steel Detailer / Fabrication Coordinator

Location: Ponder, TX (On-Site)

A growing commercial steel contractor is seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to support fabrication and project execution for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This individual will play a key role in preparing fabrication drawings while working closely with shop personnel and project management to ensure successful production and installation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial steel detailing and fabrication processes, with experience supporting projects ranging from custom miscellaneous metals to larger structural steel packages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fabrication and shop drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.

• Coordinate detailing for stairs, handrails, gates, structural components, and other fabricated steel products.

• Collaborate with project managers, fabrication personnel, and field teams throughout project execution.

• Review drawings for constructability and fabrication accuracy.

• Coordinate revisions and resolve detailing conflicts before fabrication begins.

• Support fabrication operations by maintaining accurate and organized drawing packages.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of detailing experience within structural steel, miscellaneous metals, ornamental metals, or commercial steel fabrication.

• Strong understanding of fabrication shop operations and commercial construction practices.

• Experience detailing stairs, handrails, gates, miscellaneous metals, and structural steel.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and communication skills.
