Job Description
Manchester Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Full Time Dietary Technician to support our residents’ nutritional needs and daily dining services.
The Dietary Technician works closely with residents, families, nursing, dietary staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure diet orders are accurate, preferences are documented, and meals are provided in accordance with therapeutic diet requirements.
ResponsibilitiesReview and maintain resident diet orders, allergies, food preferences, and texture modifications
Update tray cards, meal tickets, and dietary records accurately and timely
Verify that meals comply with prescribed therapeutic diets
Conduct resident food-preference interviews and address dietary concerns
Communicate diet changes to kitchen, nursing, and interdisciplinary staff
Monitor meal service for accuracy, quality, and resident satisfaction
Assist with nutrition screenings, weight tracking, and dietary documentation
Participate in care-plan meetings and resident reviews as assigned
Maintain accurate records in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
Protect resident privacy and comply with HIPAA requirements
Assist with audits, quality-improvement activities, and survey preparation
Support food-service operations as needed
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition principles in long-term care
Familiarity with diet orders, tray-card systems, and food-service operations
Comfortable using computers, including Microsoft Office, electronic health records, dietary management programs, and tray-card software systems
Attention to detail and commitment to diet accuracy
Ability to communicate professionally with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Ability to read, write, and understand English
Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work scheduled hours punctually and adjust hours when operational needs require
Previous long-term care, healthcare dietary, or food-service experience preferred
Certified Dietary Manager or Dietary Technician credentials are a plus
