LPN – Parkview Court Assisted Living | $30.00–$34.00/hour

Join our compassionate team at Parkview Court Assisted Living! As an LPN, you will provide professional nursing care, administer medications and treatments as delegated by the RN, monitor resident conditions, communicate changes in health status, support resident independence, and collaborate with residents, families, and the care team. This position reports to the RN and Assisted Living Director.

Schedule: 64 hours per pay period with no weekends or holidays!
Benefits: $30.00–$34.00/hour, free employee-only health insurance, family and employee-plus-one coverage options, dental and vision insurance, and a 4% retirement match after one year. Employees may begin contributing to retirement immediately.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  1. Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Minnesota.
  2. Must be able to meet the following physical requirements to complete duties listed in the job description:
  3. Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, sit, climb, crawl and kneel frequently.
  4. Must be able to twist, reach above shoulder height, push/pull wheelchair occasionally.
  5. Must be able to be on their feet for most of their shift as assigned.
  6. Must be able to talk, hear, taste, and smell frequently.
  7. Must be able to lift 50-200 pounds occasionally.
  8. Must be able to read and understand hand writing, regular print and directions. Must be able to write in a legible manner. Vision must be appropriate to read regular 10 point print with or without corrective lens.
  9. Must be able to work independently up to 100% of the time.
  10. Must be punctual with a good attendance record.
  11. Must complete Criminal Background check as required to assure qualification for employment.
  12. Must understand and practice Standard Precautions.
  13. Must be able to provide nursing care in a safe and professional manner.
  14. Must be mature and emotionally stable using calm and kind tone of voice in difficult or unusual circumstances.
  15. Must promote independence, not dependence, with residents offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
  16. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations with the ability to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
  17. Must be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
  18. Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be able to work as a team member with other personnel and the RN.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Perform nursing treatments and procedures as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
  2. Monitor residents’ physical conditions and report changes to the RN.
  3. Medication setups, monitoring and ordering of medications as delegated by the RN.
  4. Prepare forms to be sent with residents to medical appointments.
  5. Follow up after medical appointments on changes made to the plan of care.
  6. Communicate changes in condition of residents to physician and family as needed.
  7. Monitoring of nutritional status as directed, particularly for those on special meal plans.
  8. Monitor temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, oxygen levels, weights, etc. Report changes or concerns to RN.
  9. Assist each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
  10. Make visits to resident as assigned to monitor condition and services being provided.
  11. Assist in supervision of Care Attendants as assigned.
  12. Attend in-service training as assigned.
  13. Recognize employee’s responsibility for his / her own safety while on the job and for the safety of others. Recognize and remove environmental dangers.
  14. Complete maintenance service request slips for equipment in need of repairs. Include date, time and signature on your request.
  15. Apply principles of good body mechanics when lifting and moving objects.
  16. Use transfer techniques consistent with proper body mechanics.
  17. Participate in disaster planning drills (fire, tornado, severe weather, etc.) when on duty.
  18. Develop knowledge of actions to be implemented in emergency situations.
  19. Practice fire safety and accident prevention procedures.
  20. Follow policy and procedures governing the operation of Glenwood Village Care Center.
  21. Must understand department procedure manual.
  22. Must understand and adhere to Vulnerable Adult Abuse Prevention Policy.
  23. Must adhere to HIPPA privacy rules and regulations.
  24. Must uphold resident’s rights at all times.
  25. Demonstrate dependable professional work habits. Adhere to requirements set forth in personnel policy manual
  26. Report absences, according to policy.
  27. Come to work on time and when scheduled.
  28. Make suggestions, complaints, or grievances in a constructive manner.
  29. Handle work related situations regarding staff with confidentiality.
  30. Maintain good personal hygiene and grooming. Come to work clean and neat. Wear appropriate clothing. Jeans may be worn on Fridays per personnel policy manual.
