Maintenance Director

Edith Lane is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Director to oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department and ensure a safe, clean, and properly functioning environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on maintenance experience, and knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance practices. Experience in healthcare or long-term care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department

• Maintain the facility, grounds, equipment, and building systems in compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules

• Ensure timely completion of maintenance requests and repairs

• Supervise maintenance staff and outside vendors/contractors

• Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and mechanical systems

• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards or maintenance concerns

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, life safety, and state/federal regulations

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and equipment documentation

• Assist with emergency preparedness and response procedures

• Manage department inventory, supplies, and budget needs

• Participate in facility projects, renovations, and capital improvements as needed

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance leadership experience required

• Healthcare, nursing home, or assisted living experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations

• Ability to troubleshoot and perform general repairs independently

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple priorities

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment/materials as needed

• Valid driver’s license preferred
