Job Overview
The Field Service Mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, mobile crane equipment, and various types of forklifts. The primary focus is on the service and repair of the equipment.
Welder Responsibilities:
- Cutting and welding plate and pipe.
- Minor and major fabrication projects either in the building of or the repair of components for trucks, trailers, cranes, and various other types of equipment.
- Lattice boom repair. Removing and replacing boom lacings.
- Perform boom and lacing inspections as per manufacturer specifications.
- Perform competent inspections of all cranes.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of three years experience in welding and/or metal fabrication.
- Must be proficient in stick and mig welding activities.
- Aluminum and tig welding is a plus.
- 3G and 4G certifications are required. 6G certification is preferred but not mandatory. Must be willing to train and test to become 6G certified.
- Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Computer literate with the ability to process information.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality.
- A history of safe work habits.
- Hard worker with a great attitude.
- Must supply own hand tools and keep up-to-date tool inventory of welding truck.
- Have a clean driving record and can drive a company truck. Must keep truck clean and maintained.
- Must be willing to train and test to become Level I & II NDT certified for VT, PT, and MP testing of welds, plate steel, and tubing.
- Must be willing to work overtime, meaning late evenings, weekends, and some holidays if necessary, to complete pending jobs.
- Must work safely and follow all Bigge safety procedures and policies.
- Must be able to run various power tools including but not limited to hand grinders, drill press, corded and cordless drills, impacts, etc.
- Must be capable of communicating effectively and professionally with supervisors and other personnel.
- Able to read and work off of fabrication drawings.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
