Maintenance Director – Elkhart, IN
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Director to lead the Maintenance Department at a skilled nursing facility in Elkhart, IN. This full-time, day-shift position offers a supportive environment where your expertise will make a meaningful impact.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and oversee the operation of the Maintenance Department to ensure the facility is safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Ensure all equipment and supplies are functional, adequately stocked, and comply with regulatory standards.
Monitor staff adherence to safety protocols, Universal Precautions, and departmental policies, including fire and disaster procedures.
Conduct daily rounds to verify proper maintenance and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
Oversee apartment conversions for Assisted Living and Independent Living units.
Collaborate with other departments to address facility needs and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
Basic knowledge and training in electrical, plumbing, and HVACR systems.
Strong preference for candidates with Long-Term Care (LTC) experience and familiarity with Life Safety Code.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
