Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Nuclear Medicine specialty in Carbondale, Illinois, United States. Start date 08/10/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay range: $2,933–$3,065 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with one week of on-call per month. This position operates in a hospital setting within the nuclear medicine imaging department.

Responsibilities
- Perform and process nuclear medicine imaging studies per physician orders and department protocols.
- Prepare, administer, and handle radiopharmaceuticals, following radiation safety guidelines and infection control practices.
- Operate gamma cameras and imaging equipment; acquire, process, and evaluate images; conduct routine quality control.
- Ensure proper patient positioning, shielding, and care to optimize image quality and minimize radiation exposure.
- Monitor patients during procedures; respond to adverse events; communicate findings to supervising physicians and interpreting staff.
- Document procedures, results, and deviations in the medical record; maintain accurate radiopharmaceutical inventory and documentation.
Requirements
- Nuclear medicine imaging experience in a clinical imaging setting; lab techs without nuclear medicine experience will not be qualified.
- Ability to work in a nuclear medicine imaging department with a patient-care focus.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties (1 week per month) as required by the assignment notes.
- Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical handling, safety practices, and imaging protocols.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to operate in a fast-paced imaging environment.
- Licensure or certification appropriate for nuclear medicine practice, per state requirements.
