Water Aerobics Instructor

Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Water Aerobics Instructor to lead engaging, safe, and effective aquatic fitness classes for participants of varying ages and fitness levels. The instructor will design and deliver structured water-based workouts that promote cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and overall wellness in a supportive and fun environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead scheduled water aerobics classes for adults and/or seniors.
  
  
• Develop class routines that incorporate warm-ups, aerobic conditioning, strength training, and cool-down exercises.
  
  
• Demonstrate proper techniques for aquatic exercises and ensure participant safety at all times.
  
  
• Modify exercises to accommodate participants with different abilities, injuries, or limitations.
  
  
• Maintain a positive and motivating class atmosphere.
  
  
• Monitor pool safety and follow facility emergency procedures.
  
  
• Set up and return aquatic fitness equipment (e.g., water dumbbells, noodles, kickboards).
  
  
• Communicate with aquatics staff regarding attendance, equipment needs, or participant concerns.
  
  
• Maintain a clean and organized pool deck area.
  
  

Qualifications

• Certification in Group Fitness Instruction or Water Aerobics/Aquatic Fitness (preferred).
  
  
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  
  
• Prior experience teaching group fitness or aquatic classes preferred.
  
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
  
• Ability to motivate participants of all ages and fitness levels.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate aquatic exercises in the water.
  
  
• Ability to lift and move aquatic equipment (up to 25 lbs).
  
  
• Ability to stand or move on pool deck for extended periods.
  
  

Compensation

• Hourly rate: $20–$35 per class (depending on experience and certifications).
