Custodian

Primary Functions:

The Facility Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, healthy, and welcoming environment throughout assigned facilities. This position performs routine custodial services, floor care, event support, and basic facility upkeep while delivering exceptional customer service and representing Perfection Group with professionalism.

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, conference rooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect all assigned areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
• Clean windows, glass, entrances, and high-touch surfaces.
• Restock restroom and kitchen supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
• Perform routine floor care including buffing, stripping, waxing, burnishing, and carpet cleaning as needed.
• Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, school functions, and special events.
• Assist with seasonal cleaning projects and deep-cleaning assignments.
• Report maintenance, safety, or security concerns promptly to leadership.
• Custodial equipment is safely operated, including floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, extractors, and other cleaning equipment.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and custodial closets in a clean and organized manner.
• Follow OSHA, customer, and Perfection Group safety policies and procedures.
• Represent Perfection Group professionally while providing exceptional customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Floor care (buffing, stripping, waxing, carpet extraction)
• Microsoft Office and mobile technology
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and kneel for extended periods
• Must frequently lift and carry heavy loads (typically ranging from 30 to 55 pounds)
• Safety Protocols: Knowledge of how to safely handle hazardous materials and commercial chemicals using proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or hazards.
• Safe operation of ladders, lifts, power tools, and maintenance equipment
• Time management: strong ability to balance routine cleaning tasks while responding to unexpected spills or facility needs

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5+ years of commercial, industrial, educational, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a criminal background check and any customer-required pre-employment screenings.
