Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality FAI & Technical Documentation Specialist to support its Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
This position ensures that newly manufactured parts meet all blueprints, material, process, and customer requirements. The specialist will perform blueprint ballooning, complete mechanical inspections, review certifications, and prepare accurate, audit-ready First Article Inspection (FAI) packages.
Key Responsibilities
Pay Statement and Pay Transparency Laws: rate of pay listed is on a per hour basis. You will be entitled to health insurance once employed for 60 days and you must work 30 hours per week, on average, per month to enroll and maintain health insurance through Complete Staffing Solutions. Once both qualifiers are met you must complete the enrollment packet and your benefits will start on the first of the subsequent month. . . Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality FAI & Technical Documentation Specialist to support its Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
This position ensures that newly manufactured parts meet all blueprints, material, process, and customer requirements. The specialist will perform blueprint ballooning, complete mechanical inspections, review certifications, and prepare accurate, audit-ready First Article Inspection (FAI) packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Balloon or “bubble” engineering drawings by assigning unique numbers to dimensions, tolerances, and notes.
- Inspect plastic components, machined metal parts, and assemblies according to customer specifications.
- Prepare detailed mechanical inspection reports and FAI documentation.
- Complete capability studies and Gage R&R studies to confirm measurement accuracy and consistency.
- Review raw-material certifications, plating records, heat-treatment logs, and other documentation to ensure traceability.
- Develop inspection methods using manual, vision-based, and automated precision-measurement equipment.
- Work with Engineering and Production to identify and resolve product-quality issues.
- Provide complete FAI packages and supporting documentation to internal teams, customers, and auditors.
- Follow AS9100 requirements, work instructions, and established quality procedures.
- Support additional quality projects as assigned.
- At least two years of manufacturing quality-control experience, preferably within an AS9100 aerospace environment.
- Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100, ISO, and NADCAP.
- Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T knowledge.
- Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings, tolerances, and special-process notes.
- Experience with blueprint ballooning and First Article Inspection documentation.
- Comfortable using manual and digital inspection instruments, precision measuring tools, and gauges.
- Experience with CMMs, vision inspection systems, optical comparators, or similar equipment.
- Plastic injection molding or composites experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
