QA Specialist

Penmac Staffing is seeking a dependable QA Specialist for a temporary assignment with a local food production facility in the Monett area. This position plays a critical role in maintaining food safety and quality standards. Because this role is essential to plant operations, excellent attendance and reliability are required. Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 PM-6:00 AM
Job Type: Temporary assignment with potential opportunity to transfer into a production position based on future openings and business needs.Requirements for the QA Specialist

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Post-secondary education, training, or related experience in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred
• Knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP principles, and USDA regulations
• Proficient computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to apply technical knowledge and sound judgment in a manufacturing environment
• Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check
• Ability to work the full weekend overnight schedule and maintain excellent attendance

QA Specialist Responsibilities

• Assist with quality assurance and food safety programs, including SSOPs, GMPs, and product specifications
• Monitor processing parameters such as temperatures, weights, and equipment calibration to ensure HACCP compliance
• Monitor compliance with USDA, BRC, and other food safety regulations and standards
• Collect environmental, pathogen, and product samples as required
• Conduct internal audits and daily SSOP operational audits
• Collect, review, and organize HACCP and SSOP documentation
• Assist with allergen controls, foreign material prevention, product inspection, and management of non-conforming products
• Support production leads and supervisors with process assessments, training, and employee development
• Conduct pre-shipment reviews
• Maintain positive working relationships with USDA personnel
• Perform additional duties as assigned
