Encore Oilfield Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Vessel Welder to join our manufacturing team in New Iberia, Louisiana. This position is responsible for producing safe, high-quality welds on ASME-coded pressure vessels and related components used in natural gas compression equipment while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship, productivity, and adherence to company safety standards.
The ideal candidate has experience with pressure vessel welding, blueprint interpretation, and multiple welding processes, and takes pride in producing code-quality welds in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Essential Responsibilities- Perform high-quality welds on ASME-coded pressure vessels and related components.
- Weld couplings, nozzles, internal components, and external vessel components in accordance with engineering drawings and welding procedures.
- Perform structural welding as required for guards, platforms, and other fabricated assemblies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
- Operate cutting torches, welding machines, grinders, and carbon arc gouging equipment.
- Perform carbon arc gouging as needed to achieve code-quality weld repairs.
- Fabricate and assemble components with minimal supervision.
- Work with various vessel materials while maintaining dimensional accuracy and weld quality.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, rigging equipment, pneumatic hand tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with ASME code requirements and quality standards.
- Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Promote teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement within the Vessel team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years of vessel welding or related fabrication experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to tack weld and safely operate grinders.
- Knowledge of pressure vessel materials and fabrication practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
- Experience operating overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and fabrication tools.
- Ability to weld using TIG (GTAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) or MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) processes.
- Ability to pass a 3G/4G welding test for welding couplings and nozzles.
- Ability to pass a 5G/6G welding test for welding pressure vessel components.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing code-quality welds.
- Reliable attendance and ability to maintain high productivity standards.
- Experience welding ASME-coded pressure vessels.
- Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel pressure vessels.
- Experience welding pipe, structural steel, and pressure vessel components.
- Experience with carbon arc gouging and weld repair.
- Experience in natural gas compression, oil & gas, or industrial manufacturing environments.

- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions while wearing required PPE.
This position is based in a manufacturing and fabrication facility where employees fabricate ASME-coded pressure vessels and related equipment. Team members regularly work around welding equipment, overhead cranes, heavy materials, and industrial machinery while following all company safety procedures and ASME quality standards.
