Mobile Sonographer – General/Vascular Ultrasound
Location: Omaha, NE
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Pay Rate: $40.00–$50.00/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Weekend: As needed based on case volume; overtime eligible
Company Vehicle: Provided
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Sonographer to provide high-quality ultrasound services to patients in nursing homes, home care facilities, prisons, and other healthcare locations throughout the Omaha, NE region. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional who enjoys working independently, traveling to different locations, and providing patient care outside of a traditional hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using portable sonography equipment.
- Travel to various healthcare facilities to provide mobile ultrasound services.
- Obtain technically competent and clinically diagnostic images for Radiologist interpretation.
- Process and digitally transmit ultrasound images for interpretation.
- Verify physician orders and confirm patient identity using two patient identifiers.
- Maintain accurate exam-related paperwork and billing documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, call center staff, healthcare facility personnel, supervisors, and clients.
- Maintain company-provided vehicle and sonographic equipment.
- Respond to urgent communications within 15 minutes.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, infection-control standards, and professional ethics.
- Work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Train other technologists as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Ultrasound Technology program.
- ARDMS or CCI registration required.
- Vascular ultrasound credentials required – RVT or RVS.
- Limited license is not accepted.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel between multiple patient locations.
- Basic smartphone and computer skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, professional, and able to work independently.
- Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.
- COVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions may be considered with appropriate documentation.
- Must maintain required certifications, registries, health screenings, and other operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift approximately 18–20 pounds of portable ultrasound equipment.
- Ability to transport equipment using a wheeled cart for distances of up to 250 feet.
- Ability to travel frequently between healthcare facilities.
