American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Telemetry/Stepdown role in an Emergency Department, requiring at least 1 year of relevant experience and an active MO or Compact RN license.
Details\n- \n
- Emergency Department (ED) setting in a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and STEMI center \n
- 68-bed ED unit with a routine patient ratio of 4:1 (ratio may vary based on census and surge conditions) \n
- Patient population includes trauma, stroke, STEMI, and burn cases across all age groups \n
- Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM \n
- 13–26 week contract \n
- 36 or 48 hours per week \n
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated \n
- No floating requirements \n
- No on-call requirements \n
- Weekends required as scheduled by the facility \n
- EMR: Epic \n
- Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments between November 1 and April 1; declinations are not accepted \n

- Active RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for Missouri licensure or hold a current MO or Compact RN license \n
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required \n
- NIHSS certification required prior to start date (candidates may be considered without it if obtained before starting) \n
- Minimum 1 year of recent Tele, Stepdown, or ED experience (Level 3, Level 4, or critical access) \n
- No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months \n
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted) \n
- Physical requirements include standing and walking for the majority of the shift, as well as pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, and occasional kneeling, crouching, and crawling \n

- Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups \n
- Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes \n
- Night shift orientation is conducted on day shift; candidates must be available for the entire orientation week \n
- Trauma, pediatrics, high-acuity experience, and familiarity with high-volume environments (200+ patients/day) are preferred \n
- RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week \n
- Only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment \n
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be placed at a reduced bill rate \n
- Scrub color: black; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted \n
