As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our accounting operations, ensure financial integrity, and provide strategic financial leadership.



Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions for the company. This role will ensure compliance with GAAP, oversee tax compliance, manage financial reporting, direct audit activities, and serve as the primary accounting resource for executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent leadership skills, and experience in a multi-location organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
  • Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting controls and financial policies.
  • Prepare and file corporate federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Serve as the company's primary liaison with the IRS, state taxing authorities, and external tax professionals.
  • Coordinate and lead annual financial audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and management representation materials.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Maintain depreciation schedules and oversee capital asset accounting.
  • Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and provide oversight of payroll accounting.
  • Record and review journal entries and ensure proper account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting personnel while promoting continuous process improvement.
  • Assist executive leadership with strategic planning, acquisitions, financing, and other special projects.



Qualifications

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or public accounting role.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience preparing corporate income tax returns and managing tax compliance.
  • Experience coordinating financial statement audits.
  • Advanced QuickBooks experience required.
  • Advanced Google Workspace Administration (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, Admin Console).
  • Experience with payroll accounting and multi-entity accounting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to present financial information to executive leadership.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.



Preferred Experience

  • Multi-location or multi-entity accounting.
  • Transportation, logistics, or service industry experience.
  • Experience with BambooHR or similar HR/payroll systems.
  • Budget development, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Process improvement, automation, and ERP implementation.
