Job Title: Press Brake Supervisor - 2nd Shift
Pay Rate Range: $30.00 - $40.00
Job Type: Full-Time / Direct-Hire
Schedule: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday; 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Location: Bloomingdale, IL
Overview Summary:
We are seeking a Press Brake Supervisor - 2nd Shift for our growing client located in Bloomingdale, IL. This role is to support manufacturing operations by setting up and operating metal bending machines. This role is also responsible for the supervision of Press-Brake / Punch-Press operator staff members on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the day to day operations of the Press-Brake department
- Ensuring quality standards are met and staff members are adhering to the guidelines
- Leading by example and showcasing hands-on leadership methods
- Operate press brake machines to bend and form metal parts according to specifications.
- Follow bending sequences and blueprints to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Perform quality inspections using tools such as calipers, squares, height gauges, and protractors.
- Set up tooling and adjust machine settings based on material type and production requirements.
- Monitor and control machine performance, including RAM speed and forming processes.
- Identify and troubleshoot production issues to maintain quality standards.
- Understand material behavior such as springback, deflection, and shrinkage.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
- Document production processes and complete reference sheets for complex parts.
- Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
- Support preventative maintenance and coordinate equipment needs (advanced level).
Job Requirements:
- 8-10yrs+ of Press-Brake Operator experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2-4yrs of Production Supervisor Experience - Within a Production Press Brake Shop
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Experience using measurement tools such as calipers and squares.
- Understanding of metal fabrication processes and material types (steel, aluminum, stainless).
- Ability to set up machines and make tooling adjustments
- Knowledge of shimming (.010, .020), hemming, offsets, and die selection
- Required Schedule: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday; 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
