Castro County Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders while helping them achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life.
Our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center provides comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services in collaboration with nursing and therapy professionals to support both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care residents.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and clinical findings.
- Provide evidence-based therapy interventions to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function.
- Perform clinical swallowing evaluations and recommend appropriate diet modifications.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies and home exercise programs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and professional standards of practice.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CF) may be considered.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric care is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for providing exceptional, resident-centered care.
