Job Description
Lake Pointe Academy, Inc. is seeking Full-time and Part-time Special Education Aides or Para-Professionals to support students with diverse learning needs in an onsite environment in Granbury, TX.
Position SummaryAs a Special Education Aide, you will provide day-to-day support to students in the classroom and assist teachers in implementing instructional and behavioral strategies. This role is focused on helping students build skills, maintain engagement, and make progress toward their individual learning goals.
Working closely with special education staff, you will support a safe, inclusive classroom environment while maintaining respectful communication with students, families, and team members.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist teachers with instructional activities, including small-group and individual student support.
Support implementation of individualized learning and behavior strategies under staff direction.
Help monitor student progress and report observations to the appropriate team members.
Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and maintaining a structured learning environment.
Support student social-emotional development by reinforcing expectations and positive behaviors.
Facilitate Functional Academics and Life-Skills
High School diploma; Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred
Experience working with children or students in an educational or care setting.
Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
Patience, professionalism, and a student-centered approach to support learning.
Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to support students safely and effectively as needed during classroom activities.
Experience supporting students with learning differences or special education needs.
Prior experience working in a school setting or with individualized student plans.
Familiarity with classroom support strategies and data-informed progress monitoring for students with ASD, ADHD, Specific Learning Disabilities affecting Reading, Writing, Mathematics, or Executive Functioning.
Hourly rate: $18.00 - 24.00 per hour equivalent, DOE, Certifications. Annual Pay Schedule with monthly increments based on number of days contracted.
