Job Description
AXIS is seeking an experienced panel builder to build control panels according to inhouse engineered designs. This includes metal cutting and drilling, wire cutting, labeling, termination, and general fabrication necessary to meet our high quality standards. You will collaborate with mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, assembly and field service teams in testing and design improvements.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Wire electrical control panels according to wiring diagrams and schematics to meet customer specifications
· Modify enclosures as required to fit components
· Perform panel testing under power
· Install cord grips, hardware and flexible conduit to interconnect enclosures
· Configure VFD, PLC, and HMI’s
· Proficient with industry electrical code; NEC, ANSI, NFPA and OSHA
· Red line schematics and communicate design changes required
· Mechanical assembly as needed
· Comply with all quality and safety regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2-years relevant work experience
· Proficient in Microsoft® Office® suite
· Familiar with PLC, VFD, HMI, and Servo controls and wiring practices
· Understanding of Ethernet communications
· Ability to read wiring schematics
· Good problem solver with the ability to analyze information
· Must be able to work with minimal supervision
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
· Experience with assembly of custom automation equipment
· Vocational training in electrical controls
· A desire to learn more about Rockwell Automations programming platforms
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT (and ADDITIONAL NOTES)
· Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
· Requires the use of PPE to include but not limited to; steel toe shoes and safety glasses in manufacturing areas
· Requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
