Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Chemical manufacturing, chemical processing, or heavy manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining EHS programs including:
    • Hazardous Waste Management (RCRA)
    • Hazard Communication (HAZCOM)
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Electrical Safety
    • Machine and Conveyor Guarding
    • Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
    • Contractor Safety
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
    • EPA Risk Management Program (RMP)
    • Emergency Response and HAZMAT
  • Experience maintaining EPA and OSHA compliance programs.
  • Experience with environmental permitting and reporting, including:
    • Air Emissions Reporting
    • Stormwater Compliance and Reporting
    • Annual Waste Reporting
    • Tier II Chemical Reporting
  • Experience conducting employee safety training and maintaining compliance records.
  • Experience leading daily Gemba walks, safety inspections, and 5S initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, ASP, CSP, or CHMM are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve the facility's Environmental, Health & Safety Management System.
  • Conduct daily Gemba walks and facility inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Develop, maintain, and report monthly EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage programs related to Hazardous Waste, HAZCOM, LOTO, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, and Contractor Safety.
  • Ensure compliance with machine and conveyor guarding requirements throughout the facility.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and safety audits.
  • Coordinate and deliver EHS training for employees and contractors.
  • Manage hazardous waste storage, labeling, and disposal activities.
  • Prepare environmental reports related to air emissions, stormwater, waste management, and Tier II inventory reporting.
  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives through employee engagement, safety observations, and 5S activities.

Ideal Candidate

A hands-on EHS professional with 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in chemical or heavy manufacturing, This individual will be comfortable working on the production floor and independently managing site-wide EHS compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
