Shipping Clerk - Now Hiring

Shipping ClerkAre you detail-oriented and experienced in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations? Penmac Staffing is recruiting for a Shipping Clerk to support a busy manufacturing and distribution environment. This position is responsible for preparing and processing outbound shipments, maintaining accurate shipping records, coordinating freight pickups, and ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.Requirements for the Shipping Clerk

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing preferred
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn shipping and inventory software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of freight carriers, bills of lading, and shipping procedures preferred
• Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Shipping Clerk Responsibilities

• Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, and crating tickets
• Verify orders against crating tickets to ensure shipment accuracy
• Process daily shipping activities using shipping software and computer systems
• Create bills of lading and other shipping documentation
• Schedule freight pickups and coordinate outbound shipments with carriers
• Obtain and maintain freight quotes as needed
• Ensure compliance with applicable shipping and packaging requirements
• Review shipping documents for accuracy and completeness
• Answer phone calls and assist customers, carriers, and internal departments
• Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation
• Support warehouse and operational teams as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Bend, stoop, reach, and climb as necessary
• Operate standard office and warehouse equipment
