Job Summary
We are seeking multiple Level 1 Data Center Technicians to support the installation of structured cabling infrastructure within a large-scale data center in. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance a career in the data center industry. Candidates should be dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable using a computer, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Install structured cabling in a structured data center environment.
- Perform cable routing, installation, and patching activities.
- Install and connect pre-configured equipment racks.
- Assist with troubleshooting cabling and connectivity issues.
- Utilize the Boost tracking system to document work and update project status.
- Follow established installation standards and quality procedures.
- Adhere to all site safety, security, and operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months prior experience in a data center or structure cabling environment
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with structured cabling or low-voltage installations.
- Previous data center, telecommunications, or construction experience.
- Experience with fiber optic installation or splicing is a plus but not required.
Work Environment
- On-site at a large-scale data center construction project.
- Hot and dusty construction environment.
- Must comply with all site safety and security requirements.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.
- Ability to work safely in an active construction environment.
