Forklift Operator

The forklift driver is responsible for receiving and loading product as it comes in while operating a forklift. The forklift driver is responsible for labeling pallets and boxes as they come in with accurate information and organizing packages and products accurately. The forklift driver will stage and load trucks throughout the day and must be willing to assist in both loading and receiving in product. The forklift driver must have experience loading and unloading extrusion.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

·          Operate a forklift to receive product from various vendors

·          Reading, labeling, and organizing product coming in and product going out

·          Operate a forklift to load various containers, box trucks, vans and flat beds

·          Work in a warehouse environment that is subject to cold/hot weather as the seasons change

·          Maintain a clean work environment which includes sweeping, picking up trash, taking out trash etc.

·          Other duties as required.

·          Ability to communicate with drivers from various vendors.

·          Ability to work well with others and contribute to a team environment.

 

Physical Requirements:

·          Ability to get on and off a forklift, must be able to shrink wrap pallets, operate pallet jacks and occasionally use hand tools.

·          Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.

·         Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time in a warehouse environment.
·         Warehouse environment is subject to seasonal weather conditions.  Forklift drivers sometimes unload trucks outside in varying weather conditions.
