Job Description
Electrical CAD Technician
12 month contract
Chesterfield, MO
Job Description:
The Technician will function as a member of a technical team alongside Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers and will be responsible for the creation and revision of technical drawings associated with the design and engineering of electrical substations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing new drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components based on both written & verbal instructions.
- Create, organize, track, and maintain engineering documents throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring document accuracy, version control, and timely distribution.
- Coordinate drafting and document control activities across multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Utilize various drafting and data management software applications.
- Adhere to company, client, and ANSI drafting standards and procedures.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum Associate's degree in CAD related program or specialized CAD certification plus 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
- Experience with Revit is a plus.
- Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with engineers, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage documentation and priorities across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability and willingness to quickly learn new software platforms, systems, and technologies.
- Demonstrated initiative to identify process improvements and implement more efficient ways of working.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
