Position Overview

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the Antrim Medical Group. The CMA will provide clinical support under the direct supervision of the Office Nurse or Physician.

The ideal candidate should be professional, caring, organized, and able to remain calm in stressful situations. The candidate must maintain patient confidentiality, demonstrate flexibility, and work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, injections, child immunizations, laboratory tests, and other clinical procedures within the scope of MA certification.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations, including taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
• Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms with necessary supplies.
• Take and return patient phone calls as directed by the physician.
• Provide patients with instructions as directed by the physician.
• Monitor and requisition medical supplies as needed.
• Assist with maintaining medical records, including referral forms, laboratory slips, and other required documentation.
• Assist patients with getting to and from examination rooms.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist with nursing procedures as directed by the physician.
• Support the Manager and/or Clinical Coordinator with additional duties within the scope of MA certification.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Protect the confidentiality and privacy of patients, employees, and practice-related information.
• Work collaboratively as a member of the healthcare team and remain flexible to changing needs.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of at least 2 years of formal Medical Assistant curriculum or specialized Medical Assistant training – Required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Medical Assistant experience in a medical setting – Required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification – Required and must be maintained.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) – Required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
